The Walk Against Hunger will be on Friday, May 24th starting at 12:30 pm. This is a school wide community service project that raises money for Families in Transition. We have held this walk for 18 years, and for the last 10 years the other middle schools have joined us at their schools.
Students need to collect at least $5.00 in donations to walk, and if they bring $10.00 they can walk and get a t-shirt. As I tell the students this is about community service and using their voices for good. They are expected to ask people for donations from friends and family, this is something all students can do. We aim to have 100% participation from students. We have a contest for the top 3 fundraisers to win earbuds, a wireless speaker or Chipotle gift card. The money must be in by the end of the school day on Wednesday, May 22nd to be considered.
This year we have an online donation available. Please feel free to share this link with any family that wishes to donate online. We are also looking for water donations, if anyone is able to do so, please drop the water off at the main office.
Thank you for helping us accomplish our goal of community service with our students, and we look forward to a fun walk day! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at kmorrison@mansd.org.
