Washington D.C. Trip - Miss Davison has the applications for McLaughlin.

Capital Tours, Inc, in conjunction with Ms. Gina McGuiggin from Southside Middle School are pleased to announce our 37th year of providing students with both an educational and memorable experience of incomparable value. From Sunday, April 21, 2019 to Wednesday, April 24, 2019, eighth grade students from Southside Middle School, McLaughlin Middle School and Auburn Village School will have the opportunity to participate in a 4 day/3 night tour of Washington DC. The tour is in no way a school or city sponsored trip, though it will be chaperoned by staff members from the middle schools. A minimum chaperone ratio of one adult for every ten students will be maintained enroute to and from Washington. If you have any questions please contact Gina McGuiggin at rmcguiggin@masnd.org. Fri. Dec 14th - 12:45pm - MST will be sending representatives over to meet with all 8th grade students.

Wed, Jan. 9th - 8th grade students will travel to MST. This will be done in two waves in the morning.

Fri., Feb. 1st - TO ALL 8TH GRADERS applying to MST - If you are applying to MST, the deadline is Friday, Feb. 1st by 5PM. Any student who is not time-stamped on the application list by 5PM on Friday, Feb 1st, will go onto a wait-list. Students on the wait-list will only be able to take a seat if the current students who submitted their application on time choose not to attend MST. Tues., March 5, 2019 - Memorial High School Official Welcome and tour of the school for incoming freshman. Evening program for parents and students in the Arthur J. Mirabile Memorial Auditorium 6:30 - 8:30 pm (snow date 3/7/19)

Wed., March 6, 2019 - Memorial High School will be at McLaughlin to talk to the 8th Graders that will be attending that school next year.

Thurs., March 7, 2019 - Central High School will be at McLaughlin to talk to the 8th Graders that will be attending that school next year.

Thurs., March 7, 2019 - Central High School Open House Information: CLASS of 2023 OPEN HOUSE NIGHT - Clubs and organizations will be on display in the cafe from 6 to 6:30. Introduction and Welcome to Manchester High School Central 6:30 to 6:50 in McAllaster Hall. Meet and greet in the McIninch Library 6:50 to 8:30.

Mon., March 11, 2019 - Memorial High School Parent Course Selection Information Night. Evening Program for parents only in the Arthur J. Mirabile Memorial Auditorium from 6:30 - 8:30 pm (snow date 3/12/19)

Tues., March 12, 2019 - West High School Freshman Orientation

WEST High STEAM Program, NJROTC, Theatre & Music, sports programs, extra-curricular clubs, and activities will have representatives available in our cafeteria at 6:00 PM. This will allow students to see the many choices they have for involvement and engagement while at WEST.

At 6:45 PM, parents will meet the administrative team and many staff members in the Baines Auditorium for an overview of the academic requirements and other exciting things that are going on at West. This will be followed by an opportunity to tour the campus and visit specific academic department areas.

At 7:15 everyone will meet for the fun and excitement of BINGO KNIGHT. The first game will be free and then a $10 donation that goes to WHS to stay and play.

Wed., April 10, 2019 - 8th Grade Washington D.C. Mandatory Meeting

There will be a mandatory Parent/Student Washington D.C. trip meeting to be held at Southside Middle School, 300 Jewett St, in the cafe on Wednesday, April 10th starting at 6:30 pm.

If you are unable to make this meeting, the other option is to attend the meeting on Thursday, April 11th at Auburn Village School, Auburn, NH.

Wed., May 15, 2019 - MST is having the incoming 9th grade meeting for parents on Weds, May 15th at 10am and 6pm. Parents only need to attend 1 meeting. Students can come to the evening meeting. Emergency forms and schedule options will be given out that evening. Thanks!

Wed., June 12, 2019 - 8th Grade Promotion/Semi Formal - This date is subject to change depending on snow days. Promotion will be 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Then the Semi Formal will follow from 7:30 pm to 10 pm. There will be more details on each event.

Semi money/permission slip should be returned by May 31st. Please see Miss Morrison if a student needs help with the price of the ticket or an outfit.

Dress Code:

  1. Semi-Formal attire is the dress for the evening.
  2. Boys – Collared shirt and tie (sport coats are optional.) No tuxes and no jeans.
  3. Girls – A dress or pants. No strapless dresses. No plunging necklines, no minis, no bare midriffs. No formal prom gowns. Dresses will need to be in compliance with the Manchester School District’s Student Dress Code.

Promotion Ceremony -

T will be held at McLaughlin Middle School on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. in the Gymnasium. This ceremony is for those students who have met the criteria to be promoted to 9th Grade. The ceremony will last approximately 90 minutes and this year’s graduating class numbers are about 233 students.


Students are asked to dress up, as this is a special event. Girls - appropriate dress or nice outfit. Boys – shirt and tie. Please no jeans.


Each student has seating for three (3) individuals. Guests must be in place by 5:45 p.m. in order to secure their seating. At 5:45 p.m., those individuals without seats will be allowed to come in and fill the Gym. These individuals will line up at the west Gym entrance. Parents may line up at the Gym Door. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.


Three tickets for the Promotion Ceremony will be distributed to students during rehearsal on June 12, 2019. TICKETS MUST BE PRESENTED FOR ADMISSION. NO EXTRA TICKETS WILL BE GIVEN OUT. At 5:45 p.m., those individuals without tickets will be allowed to come in and fill the Gym. These individuals will line up at the west Gym entrance. Parents may line up at the Gym Door. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m.

Handicap Access

There will be handicapped parking directly in front of the school. If special requirements are needed for wheelchair, walkers, or other arrangements, please contact the school at 603-628-6247. When you arrive at school, please come directly to the front of the line.

Students Participating

Students who are participating in this ceremony must be here at 5:30 p.m. and will go directly to their team areas.


There should be enough parking but you may have to walk. A Policeman will be available to direct you and help with traffic after the event. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE FIRE LANES IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY, WE NEED THOSE LANES OPEN.

Miss Morrison is looking for pictures of the 8th graders for the end of the year slideshow. These pictures can be from baby up to present day, and can be sent in any format (email, physical copy, CD). Any and all help is very much appreciated in making a special show that all students can enjoy! All pictures are needed by May 31st to allow for time to make the slideshow.
