McLaughlin Announcements

  • McLaughlin Sports Update Middle school sports offered by MSD this fall:  Field hockey (girls); Volleyball (girls); Cross country (boys and girls); Soccer (boys and girls).  All but soccer will compete in Tri County athletics, Div 2.  Soccer is sponsored by an outside donor and will include inter-city play only.  All students must be registered at McLaughlin and must be registered on FamilyID.com in the sport for which they are interested.  Further, all students must have a physical before tryouts, dated within one year of tryout date.  Boys Cross Country tryouts will begin on Monday August 27 3 pm, at McLaughlin.

Bus Policy

Bus Routes

From our Transportation Policy*:
  • Students availing themselves of transportation shall be picked up and dropped off at the same location Monday through Friday.
  • Students may only ride the bus to which they have been assigned.
Students are rostered to a bus and to a stop as a safety procedure and for the overall management of the transportation program.  Parents may request their child ride a different bus with a friend, or for transportation to be split mid week between households.  Please help them understand that we are not able to provide the service they are requesting for the safety of their children.

Students can, however, be assigned to one bus and stop in the AM, and a separate bus and stop in the PM, as long as it is consistent daily.  For instance, a student may ride from home in the morning, and to a stop near a caretaker's home in the afternoon, as long as that home is within the busing area of the child's school.  A parent would make this request at the school level, the request forwarded to me to make the change, and I will confirm when the assignment is changed back to the school, who would then close the gap with the parent.

We recognize these changes and plan our educational program to help meet your child's needs.
